Hey everyone!
This week went great! We lost fam Villamarin, looks like
they were all just a bunch of fools gold. But the Changos are doing well, they
are all really receptive and we are gonna be working a lot with them this week.
Going to go crazy finding more people too. Things are going well.
I have been more blessed than I can even find words to
describe. Looking back I can easily that God gave me trials based on what I
needed, in the moment I often wondered why I had to go through a lot of things,
but I can very clearly see now that it was all because God loved me. The things
I have learned and felt during my time here mean more to me than anything else
I could have ever done with my life. As an imperfect person being a
representative of Jesus Christ is much more than I can handle, it has made me
see my weaknesses and my imperfections more than ever in my life. But I can say
without any doubt that I have not done it alone and that is the only reason
that this calling has been possible. I am so grateful that God let me be here
despite all of the weaknesses I have, it has been the oppurtunity of a
lifetime.

I am really gonna miss this place. No more bannanas for 10
cents each, no more bread stores, no more 2$ haircuts, no more verde, no more
funny latino wards, my spanish is probably gonna get really bad as time goes on
without speaking it, and lots of other stuff. But life goes on and everyone is
telling me to start making goals to be a good RM so we will see what happens.
Excited to see you all next week! Ill be pretty busy till then

Hi everyone!
This week was great! I was a little stressed because our
lack of investigators and there were a few long days but God helped us out a
lot by the end. We found two families Fam Villamarin and Fam Chango Chicaiza
(people here have the wierdest names) and they are both married! They seem like
they have some potential so we are hoping to see them progress soon. Found them
both in kind of wierd ways so I believe in miracles! Turns out that the Pope being
here wasnt as big of a deal as I thought, a few people turned us down because
of him but a lot of people just went straight to Quito or Guayaquil. Today we
had a cool activity, went to the big waterfalls out here and it was fun. And,
not a whole lot else... But life is good.
Elder Durrant
wow those classes sound like... fun. Definetly not feeling
to trunky right now. But I probably wont change much because they all sound
like they will be a good use of time. This mormon message about the stake
presidency sounds pretty funny. Also sounds like youth conference was pretty
cool. Ian and Alicia look really serious in those pics. That is a long flight..
Tell Shane hi for me! Im feeling pretty normal, maybe next week it will feel
real to me. But I have been saying that like every week for a awhile and it
still hasnt happened.

Hey Guys!
This week went well. It was sunny pretty much all week long
which was awesome! The wierd animals liked it too cause I have seen a ton of
tarántulas and snakes this week (bleh). We worked hard and were able to find a
lot more people than we have in the past but really nobody that wants to take
us seriously so got to hit it hard again this week. Things with less actives
have been going great! Yesterday we had tons of less actives in church which is
something that has never happened to me my whole mission so that was cool. Just
hope things get moving as far as investigators go but I am not too worried, we
just gotta keep giving it our best. The Pope is in Ecuador right now so that is
kind of cool but makes people here a lot less willing to listen to us, but it
also makes me glad that I am not in Quito right now, tomorrow is a national
holiday because of that so we will see how it goes.
Well it was a good week and I hope that this one is good
too. Thanks for everything!
Elder Durrant
Hey guys!
What classes did Audrey sign me up for? And holy smokes that
facebook post is serious stuff haha. I had the wierdest dream last night that
Ian came alone to the airport to pick me up and took me straight to the theater
to see avengers 2 and I just sat there with my suitcases between my legs
wondering why the heck everyone said it was such a good movie cause it was
pretty boring in my dream haha. Good luck with the tumbler, it is pretty hard
to get the hang of. Looks like mom gave up on spanish... (until someone else
goes to a spanish speaking mission). Suprised to hear about Pres. Packer and
have been reading a lot about him today. See you later

Hey everyone!
This week was really stressfull but lots of good stuff
happened. First of all it rained a lot this week and both the highways leading
out of Baños got closed for most of the week. There were some huge collapses in
the road and we lost most of our sector for the week so our teaching pool
really shrunk and it was a long cold week. But the great part was that on saturday
the sun came out and everything cleared up which ment that we could work in our
whole sector and the missionaries from our zone could finally come and do Lucio
and Santiagos baptism interviews and they got baptized. So after a long week I
got a nice birthday present, happy birthday to me.
My birthday was really good! I ate bolones for breakfast
which is one of my favorite ecuador foods, got my face smashed into a cake
(twice), and had two suprise parties! They did the first one and I thought that
it was over but the second one really suprised me, this branch is pretty cool.
Then I ate pizza for dinner. So it was a great day!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes guys!
Elder Durrant
Its looking like the cup is gonna come down to Chile and
Argentina, well at least that is my guess. Good luck but I think that I am
putting my money on Argentina. I think my two favorite artists here are Romeo
Santos and Nicky Jan, Ill be listening to a lot of that when I have access to
internet. Rio Roma is also pretty good. 20 years... holy crap Im old! Glad that
Ursula lived up to moms expectations. And holy garbage Aicia and Isaac have
gotten tall. Hope summer is going great for everyone!

Hey all,
This week was interesting. Just to explain this week I need
to explain what our sector is like cause it isnt technically the city Baños. It
is basically the main freeway and all of the surrounding villages until you get
into the oriente. On the way there the freeway is full of tunnels and big
hills, canyons, rivers and whatnot. This week rained a ton so there was a good
few times when the roads would collapse making it impossible to get back to
Baños or keep moving foward unless you walk for the next 6-7 hours. So there
were a few times when we got stuck with all of our plans for the day fallen
though because we couldnt get to our destination and we were forced to just
walk to the nearest village and hope that things would go well that day. It has
really been an adventure haha
So that made things a little hard this week but good things
are happening as always. We walked into Lucios house and he was watching the
last Generel Conference! What the- were did you find that? Oh I just felt like
finding something from the church on the internet and reading the Book of
Mormon. So he is doing really well as well as Santiago. More news on them
later.
Also had interviews with President today and they went
great! Afterword him and his wife came with us to the big tree house above
Baños and we had a good time. Life is good (and moving fast)
Elder Durrant
Oh man I miss ragnar, even though it would probably kill me
if I did it right now. The hermanas were from Columbia and the Dominican Republic,
but the one from Columbia was replaced by an Ecuatoriana last week. I am not
sure that any Noises off will ever beet the one we saw in Ceder City, it was
just too perfect and now we will always be comparing everything to that. Hope
everything goes well in girls camp with you guys this week. And I cant believe
how much dads great grandpa looks like my great grandpa who looks like my
grandpa who looks like my dad who looks like me. I have always wondered what I
will look like when I am old but I guess I have my answer now. Have a good week
everyone!

So this week was fun!
Lots of crazy stuff happened and we are doing good! Our
investigators are doing good and we are excited about the future with them. But
we really need to find new people that are going to take things seriously, they
always seem so golden in the first lessons and then drop us a week later so we
still have a lot of work to do in the next couple of weeks. We also had an
activity witht he branch this week and it went pretty well, the members here
are a lot of fun. We have been cleaning the house like crazy lately cause next
week we got interviews with President Christensen and he is doing it in our
houses! (gulp). And here is a pic of our district this last change. Blackest
district in the whole mission!
Happy birthday dad! Your present is that Chile beat Ecuador
in the Copa America gosh dangit. And happy anniversary too! That is suprising
that Jurrasic Park is that good. Just got a call from Elder Mendoza my trainer
who is finishing today, that was pretty wierd to think about. I dont really
care who you invite to the airport. Looks like I am gonna have time to go to
the beach in Miami that day! Sounds like Alicia is gonna be pretty buff when I
see her. How tall in Isaac? I am going to feel so short. Her is a pic to show
that we eat rice with everything haha
