Hi everyone,
This week was awesome! We had
lots of spiritual experiences and on saturday a member family made an
ecuadorian BBQ! Ecuatorianos dont really BBQ all that often but when they do
holy smokes it is incredible. Just imagine a whole lot of meat with potatoes and
cheese, and then even more meat. Me and Elder Hall both got out about ready to
blow up but both agreed it was like the greatest meal ever.
Ill tell wierd story of what
happened this week before I get to the spiritual stuff. But we knocked on a
random door on the way to an appointment and they let us in without us even
having to present ourselves. We were both pretty happy and sat down to have a
nice spiritual lesson but then they started to talk and talk and talk and would
not stop. They told us their whole life story and we could not get a word in.
We kind of tried to explain the Restoration (they liked that idea because they
hate churches but love Jesus) and they later asked where our church was. That
gave me some hope but then they said they would go ask our ''minister'' for
money so that they could go start their own church. At that point we were
trying our best to run away but then they said they wanted to pray for us
before we left so we all knelt down while they offered us a very loud prayer
that was like 10 minutes long and ended with ''¡Gracias Señor Jesús, Amen y
Amen, GLORIA A DIOS!'', a big round of applause, and lots of shouting while
throwing us back into the street. It was wierd, all in a days work I guess.
But all in all this week made me really excited for the
change because we also had some extremely productive lessons despite a few
crazy people. I am so motivated to keep working with lots of faith and
diligence so that we can see success in this area. God has been helping us so
much and niether of us could deny that this week. I am so excited to hear about
all these people getting called to Quito! Thanks for everything you are all
doing!
